foot issues!!! Grrr...... Options

Ello!!

Ive not had any problems so far with my feet, apart from a bit of clawing of my toes which doesnt bother me. But a few weeks ago something changed in my left foot. It now feels like im walking on something. Feels like theres a lump in the middle of the ball of my foot. Has anyone else experienced that before? What did you do about it? When im wearing my insoles from the hospital it does really bother me but the insoles only fit in my trainers and I cant get them into any other shoes as theyre quite thick. Walking to work is now quite uncomfortable. I dont really want to see the doc in case he refers me to yet another clinic. Im getting sick of the sight of the hospital, feel as if im never out of there for one reason or another! Im sure there are many others in the forum that can relate to that. I appriciate any advice I can get. Thanks

Hello Fuzzy,
i had pain which sounds very like the pain you have, Mine was mortons neuroma, you can check this out plenty of info on internet, its a type of cyst, my pain was in the same area as you decribed,I had mine removed and at the same time i had a haglins removed from my heel, i have had many probs with my feet.
I am having a fusion ankle opp Feb 15. Not looking forward to that!

I do hope you get this sorted soon as i know how the pain can get you down.

Hi Funky,

Not sure if it's in the same place but I've had a number of problems with the metatarsal heads in my feet,

if you imagine your hand turned over the heads are usually protected by the fatty pad at the base of the toes. Mine felt like I constantly had a stone in my shoe, insoles did help, but in the end they had to operate as most of them were raised causing a lot of discomfort. Do mention it to your rheumy or podiatrist, and get them to have a look, I know we don't like the constant trips to the various clinics but sometimes it's for the best to prevent long term problems.

Foot pain is one of the worst I feel with the RA, and I hope you can get something to help soon. :)

Hi there!

I've had a pain in my foot before that lasted for a couple of days and then went on its own. It felt a bit like a bruise although it wasn't if that makes sense and I just put it down to a swelling within the foot.

It sounds like it's really causing you trouble so I would give the doc a call ... I know what you mean though ... you start to feel like you have a second home at the hospital!

I very occassionally have foot probablems and I have had a similar experience as if theres a hard type swelling in the ball of the foot area. It did go away, so dont worry. I got myself gel pads to help ease the pressure on the foot to help relieve the problem

Hi funky,

Yes! that is exactly what it feels like. Sort of like walking on glass too.Some of my pain was caused by a nodule sticking in me between my toes, but it all comes and goes as the inflammation goes up and down. Luckily I don't have it all the time.

Hi

I have a pain in the ball of my foot like yours, I have it all the time.Mine is in my left foot as well, one thing i found so you can get your inersoles in you shoes Flyflops are easy to take the inersole out and put yours in and it lets you wear shoes but they are not cheap shoes but they are worth it.
hope you will soon feel better but as the others have said do tell your rummy team about it and they may help.

I have had a lot of problems with my feet, I have found that the gel pads helped.
My problems have been in the ankle and foot, my whole foot aPPEARS
collapsed and the specialist said it was to do with the tendon.
Please do not leave it as it may get worse.
I have got to go tomorow and have plaster casts done for surgical shoes!!
perhaps i left it to long.
